“The One Item Catwoman Refuses to Steal: A Surprising Revelation”

Selina Kyle, the notorious Catwoman, is in prison in the latest issue of her series, Catwoman #51. Despite being in a controlled environment, Selina refuses to steal from the commissary, as she deems it too risky. However, she does come up with a plan to get the inmates more items than they could ever imagine. Using a laser pointer she had hidden during her last time in jail, Selina signals to her friends on the outside to intercept the commissary truck and deliver a stash of snacks and other foodstuffs. With this, she is able to outsmart the ringleader of the inmates, Hoops, and gain the respect of her fellow prisoners.

Selina ended up in prison after she killed her former lover, Valmont, to save Batman’s life. Valmont had threatened to kill Punchline, and when Batman protested, the pair came to blows. Valmont was about to make a fatal sneak attack on Batman, but Selina stepped in to intercept the blow. When Batman asked her why she killed Valmont, she replied, “To save your life… Your ego doesn’t like it. You think he couldn’t have killed the great Batman. I love you, Bruce. I always will.”

Catwoman #51 is written by Tini Howard, illustrated by Sami Basri and Vicente Cifuentes, colored by Veronica Gandini and features a main cover by David Nakayama. Variant covers are by Nico Leon, Sweeney Boo and Joshua Swanby. It is on sale now from DC.

In Catwoman #51, Selina Kyle proves once again why she is known as Gotham’s greatest thief and master manipulator. Even in a controlled prison environment, she is able to outsmart her fellow inmates and gain their respect. Her loyalty to Batman is also demonstrated, as she is willing to risk her own life to save his. Catwoman #51 is a great read for any fan of Selina Kyle, and is sure to leave readers wanting more.
