The power plant has stopped in Gaza

On Saturday, the Energy Authority in the Gaza Strip announced that the plant will be completely closed, starting at noon on Saturday.

The Energy Authority stated, in a press release today, that the decision to stop the station comes due to current circumstances and the inability to provide the fuel needed for its operation.

He added: “With this announcement, the energy available in Gaza will reach 120 megawatts of electricity, in one moment in which Gaza needs more than 500 megawatts per day in summer”.

He explained that after this hiatus, the electricity distribution schedule for homes will reach four hours, compared to 12 separate hours.
