The release of all Sudanese detainees . the last of them is the former Minister of Industry

In light of the renewed demonstrations in central Khartoum today, a military source revealed to Al-Arabiya / Al-Hadath on Tuesday evening that the security forces have released all political detainees.

He also made it clear that former Minister of Industry and leader in freedom and change, Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, was released.

Meanwhile, former officials and politicians recently released by the authorities attended a demonstration today against the political agreement between the President of the Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok in Khartoum. The images circulated on the communication sites showed the participation of Omar Al-Digair, head of the Sudanese Congress Party, Khaled Omar Youssef, the former Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and Wagdy Saleh, member of the Removal Committee of Empowerment and leader in freedom and change.

“massive accusations”

Muhammad, the son of the Minister of Industry, had previously confirmed to Al-Arabiya.net that “the security authorities released his father on Sunday for a few minutes, in so that he did not come home, before arresting him again, describing the move and the charges against him as malicious. “

He also confirmed that the prosecution was delaying his release, saying that “the release of most of the former politicians, with the exception of him, confirms the extent of the influence he has on the form and strength of the protests” in the country.

Interestingly, dozens of prominent politicians and civilian activists have been released in lots in recent days, after being arrested on the 25th of last month (25 October 2021), following a campaign of arrests conducted by the security forces, after the army announced the imposition of a state of emergency and the dissolution of the government and the Gentlemen’s Council.

However, the political agreement that was held later on 21st of this month (November) between Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok and Army Commander Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, according to which the Prime Minister was returned to his post , provided, among other things, for the release of all political prisoners.

The demand for the release of all political detainees was one of the most important requests supported by Hamdok and all civilian groups in the country, as well as by many European countries, the United States and even the United Nations mission.
