An announcement was made during the KADOKAWA Light Novel Expo. which is now taking place online in Japan, it was announced that the Isekai anime “The Rising of the Shield Hero” Season 2 (Japanese: “Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari”). was broadcast on Japanese television.

Release Date of ”The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2”

At Crunchyroll Expo 2019, it was confirmed that Shield Hero Seasons 2 and 3 are currently in production. The 3rd season of ”The Rising of the Shield Hero” was surprisingly announced at a stage panel.

The second season of the anime version of “The Rising of the Shield Hero” has been postponed from Oct 2021 to April 2022 due to various circumstances.

The second season of The Rising of the Shield Hero officially releases on April 6, 2022.

Naofumi Iwatani

Naofumi Iwatani is the main character of The Rising of the Shield Hero story. As one of the Four Legendary Heroes, he was transported to another universe to serve as the Shield Hero (Tate no Yuusha).

Raphtalia

Raphtalia is the main heroine in The Rising of the Shield Hero series. She is the first actual companion of the Shield Hero. Although she was actually purchased as a slave, she was never treated harshly and established a great bond with her master. She later journeys to another universe and receives the Vassal Katana, becoming the Katana Hero (Katana no Yuusha) (Katana no Yuusha). Additionally, she becomes the Heavenly Ruler of Q’ten Lo after toppling the previous emperor.

Filo

Filo is a Filolial that was purchased alongside Raphtalia at the beginning of the game and evolved into a Filolial Queen due to her affiliation with the Shield Hero. As the possessor of special class-up effects, she is a steadfast ally to the hero and a loyal partner to the hero. During this time, she also develops a solid attachment to the Second Princess Melty Q Melromarc.

Rishia Ivyred

In addition to becoming the Projectile Hero, Rishia Ivyred also serves as the Bow Hero’s partner. In the past, she was a slave of the Shield Hero and a member of a noble family that had fallen on hard times. Currently, she lives in Rock Valley and teaches the Hengen Muso style of martial arts to the Legendary Heroes.

Malty S Melromarc

Malty S Melromarc: subsequently known as Bitch (Bicchi), is the central antagonist of the series. She is the former first Queen of Melromarc who tricked Naofumi Iwatani and sexually assaulted her. After her falsehoods were uncovered, she was rejected from the royal family, where she soon betrayed the other 3 heroes and became a wanted criminal.

Melty Q Melromarc

Her mother’s death and the fight with Faubrey made her the new Queen of Melromarc, the second and crown princess of Melromarc. As an act of malice, she promoted Naofumi Iwatani to Archduke. Still, after realizing the status was only second to Queen, it backfired and made them technically engaged with each other.

Mirellia Q Melromarc

As the Queen, Mirella Q Melromarc wields the real power behind the throne in Melromarc. She is usually regarded as a just ruler noted for her diplomatic and negotiating abilities. Melty Q Melromarc, the crown princess, succeeded to the throne after her mother’s death as the new Queen of Melromarc.
