The Secretary General of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation discusses with the Prime Minister of Pakistan

The Secretary General of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation, Hussain Ibrahim Taha, met today in Makkah Al-Mukarramah the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif, in official visit to the Kingdom.

Discussions during this meeting focused on the situation in the Islamic world and on the issues on the agenda of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation, which include in particular the situation in Palestine, Afghanistan, Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the question relating to the phenomenon of Islamophobia The defense of the Islamic Ummah issues The meeting also touched on the issue of cooperation between the Organization for Islamic Cooperation and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, who chairs the current 48th session of the Council of the Organization of Foreign Ministers.

The Secretary General of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation affirmed the organization’s readiness to support the Pakistani government in implementing the decisions issued by the 48th session of the Council, held in Islamabad from 22 to 23 March 2022.

For his part, the Prime Minister expressed appreciation to the Secretary General for his support and assistance, underlining Pakistan’s interest in efforts to promote joint Islamic action.
