The Secretary General of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation receives the honorary shield for Africa Day

His Excellency the Secretary General of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation Hussain Ibrahim Taha was awarded the African Day 2022 honorary shield, which is awarded by the Group of African Consuls General in Jeddah, during a ceremony held to celebrate the International Day of Africa.

The shield was received on behalf of His Excellency the Under-Secretary General for Economic Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Singendo, who, in a speech delivered on behalf of His Excellency the Secretary General of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation, to the African Consuls General, he appreciated this honor, which was presented in occasion of the anniversary of the founding of the Organization of African Unity, which was transformed in 2002 AD in African Union.

Sengendo recalled the role of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation, since its establishment in 1969, as an intergovernmental organization that represents the collective voice of the Islamic world, of which Africa has always been a natural partner, concluding his speech by affirming the ‘commitment of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation to continue contributing to the promotion of development, security and stability in Africa.
