The Shura and the Belgian parliament are eager to strengthen joint action

The Saudi-Belgian Parliamentary Friendship Committee was held in the Shura Council, led by the council member and committee chief; Dr. Ayman Bensalah Fadel, meeting with the President of the Internal Affairs, Public Affairs and Services Commission and President of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Belgian Federal Parliament, Head of the Belgian Delegation for the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Mr. Samuel Cogolatti, and the Member of Parliament Federal Council, Peter de Rovere, at the seat of the Belgian Federal Parliament in the capital, Brussels, today, on the sidelines of the visit of the Council delegation to the European Parliament.

During the meeting, the chairman of the committee, Dr Ayman Fadel, stressed the importance of strengthening joint work between the Shura Council and the Belgian federal parliament, to help strengthen parliamentary relations between them, leading to relations strongest between the two kingdoms in various fields.

For his part, Mr. Samuel Cogulati highlighted during the meeting the danger that terrorist militias hold weapons in the region, in light of the repeated attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and international shipping routes, and their impact on supplies. of oil, praising the Kingdom’s role in addressing these attacks and stopping these terrorist attacks that are exposed to it.

The meeting discussed a number of issues of common interest between the two countries to achieve common interests between them and to contribute to the development of bilateral relations in various fields, in in particular the parliamentary relations between the Shura Council and the Belgian Federal Parliament.

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Guardian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Jindan, and members of the Council, members of the Saudi-Belgian Parliamentary Friendship Committee, the Dr. Khalid bin Mahmoud Zubair, Raeda bint Abdullah Abunayan, Dr. Mutaib bin Ayed Al-Mutairi and Dr. Hadi bin Ali Al-Yami, Huda bint Abdul Rahman Al-Halisi.

On the other hand, the members of the Council, the members of the Saudi-Belgian Parliamentary Friendship Committee, Raeda Abunayan, and Huda bint Abdul Rahman Al-Halisi held another meeting with the member of the Belgian Federal Parliament, Jodel Likans, at the seat of parliament in the capital, Brussels, today.

The meeting addressed a number of topics, including those related to Saudi women in the Kingdom Vision 2030, and the guarantee of women’s rights and empowerment, in particularly with regard to regulations, legislation, the level of emancipation that Saudi women have achieved and legislation, the role of the Shura Council in the field of women’s empowerment.

The meeting also discussed a number of issues of common interest between the two countries in order to strengthen Saudi-Belgian relations. in various fields, in particular parliamentary relations between the Shura Council and the Belgian federal parliament, and help increase coordination and communication.
