Gunn is also wonderfully interested in the small people in background. Even the most anonymous extras get small sketchy details in to make them feel like a person, even if that detail is quickly followed by a gory and terrifying expression death. The staff behind the scenes of the team of the buttons are amusingly meaty out (for reasons that become clear from the credits) and also enjoy a point of karmic revenge for rather harsh treatment of their bosses of the support personal in the first movie.
Although it is clearly head and shoulders above the jumbled mess of the original A 2016 film directed by David Ayer, the sequel is anything but a rerun or a rejection. Version 2.0 highlights weaknesses of the first film (which incidentally), but also Does this make sense.
