The Sultanate of Oman has condemned the tearing of a copy of the Holy Quran by an extremist in the Netherlands in The Hague, the Netherlands. Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs today expressed in a statement denouncing and condemning the tearing of a copy of the Holy Quran by an extremist in The Hague, and what this represents of provoking Muslim feelings and inciting violence and hatred, renewing his position invoking the need for concerted international efforts to consolidate the values of tolerance, coexistence and respect between nations and cultures, and to criminalize all acts that promote the ideology of extremism and hatred and offend religions and beliefs.
