Data from various specialized companies in analysis revealed that Dutch company Vitol, the world’s largest independent oil trading company, this week loaded a shipment of Russian Espoo crude to the United Arab Emirates, on the first flight of this grade of crude.
Data from “Refinitiv”, “Kepler” and “Fortexa” showed that the oil tanker Creti Breeze, Swissmax class, loaded a cargo of 740,000 barrels from the port of Cosmino in the Far East on 3 May and was heading towards the port of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates.
According to the data, the tanker is expected to unload its cargo in the port of Fujairah in late May or early July.
Two dealers who control Espoo crude said that this crude is usually sold in North Asia.
Vitol could not be contacted for comment.
The European Union is expected to announce sanctions on Russian oil on Wednesday due to Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
And “Vitol” previously said that Russian oil volumes traded “will drop dramatically in the second quarter of the year as current contractual obligations drop.”
He added that he will stop trading in Russian oil by the end of 2022.
