The world’s largest sugar producer extends export restrictions until October 2023

The Indian government said on Friday in a statement that India, the world’s largest sugar producer, has extended sugar export restrictions for one year until October 2023.

In May, India imposed export restrictions until the end of this month to contain the rise in domestic prices after exports record.

India should produce a crop record of sugar quest’year, which could allow New Delhi to allow exports of up to 8 million tons, government and industry officials said this month.
