There star Brazilian Neymar expresses her desire to stay in Paris

Paris: Brazilian star Neymar has confirmed his wish is to stay at Paris Saint-Germain, amid news he may be leaving the team. Neymar has been linked with a move to Manchester City and Chelsea in the English Premier League, in addition to Italian Juventus. “I would like to stay in Paris,” said Neymar in an interview with journalists, three years after the expiry of his contract with the Parisian team. He added: “I don’t know anything about the club because they have not told me anything, I have a contract for several years here, so far no one has told me anything. “Neymar was with his team that fell at the Bernabeu last season, when Karim Benzema scored three goals (hat-trick) bringing Real Madrid to overcome Paris Saint-Germain, which was in advantage for 2-0, in the round of 16 of the Champions League last season. Neymar was booed in the team’s next home game following the slump against Real Madrid, which reportedly led the 30-year-old to seek out a new challenge. Despite this, Neymar expressed his enthusiasm for the new season with Christoph Galtier, who took over from Mauricio Pochettino, who left the team. Neymar explained: “I feel good after spending the holidays in my country, for everyone we have to train hard to grow as a team, the truth is that everything is fine”. He concluded: “I have nothing to prove to anyone, I love to play football and I am happy”. (Dpa)
