Russia began the development of this ship in 2016 at the Yantar plant as part of the state project 02670, and the project for its manufacture stalled a bit due to reasons related to the supply of the necessary equipment for it, and in 2020 this ship was launched and the stages of tests in preparation for its delivery to the Russian Navy.

This ship has a displacement of 4,000 tons and can carry 55 people, including scientists, researchers and crew, and operate on missions for up to 32 days at sea.
