To discuss elections and reconciliation . The dialogue of the Palestinian factions begins in Cairo

A meeting of the Palestinian factions, under Egyptian auspices, will start in Cairo today, Monday, to discuss reconciliation, end the division, and agree on the mechanism of elections and ensure their success.

Yesterday evening, Sunday, the Hamas leadership delegation arrived in Egypt to participate in the dialogue sessions. Hazem Qassem, a spokesman for the movement, told Al-Arabiya.net that the delegation includes Saleh Al-Arouri, Deputy Head of the Political Bureau, Yahya Sinwar, Dr. Khalil Al-Hayya, Izzat Al-Rishq, Hussam Badran, Muhammad Nazzal, and Rouhi Mushtaha.

The Islamic Jihad delegation also arrived in Cairo. The movement’s delegation is headed by Dr. Muhammad Al-Hindi, Head of the Political Department. The delegation also includes Dr. Anwar Abu Taha, Sheikh Nafez Azzam and Khaled Al-Batsh.

Sources in the Fatah movement told Al-Arabiya.net that the movement’s delegation arrived in Cairo, headed by Jibril Rajoub, and it included Azzam Al-Ahmad, Rouhi Fattouh, Ahmed Helles and Samir Al-Rifai.

The sources told Al-Arabiya.net that the factions will discuss the mechanisms of elections, the judiciary, security, the success of the democratic process, understanding and coordination in determining the date of the elections and the conditions for supervising the elections, and emphasizing their integrity and transparency.

She emphasized that the meetings would discuss the mechanism to achieve comprehensive reconciliation, alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and end the siege.

It is noteworthy that 14 Palestinian factions are participating in the meetings today, and they are the factions that signed the Cairo dialogues in 2011, which was known as the “reconciliation agreement.”
