Istanbul: Egypt’s Mohamed Ibrahim Kisho won the bronze medal in the competition on Wednesday wrestling 67 kg Roman, after defeating Russian Artem Surkov, at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Kisho defeated Surkov, the 2018 world champion, in the consolation round match, after losing to Ukrainian Barzyv, in semifinal, 7-6. Kisho had overtaken Armenian champion Karen Aram in the quarter-finals, before beating Korean Hansoo Ryo, 7-6, in the round of 16 of the competition. Thus, Kisho added a new bronze medal for his country, Egypt, at the Tokyo Olympics, after the two champions, Saif Issa and Hedaya Malak, managed to win two previous medals of the same metal in taekwondo competitions. .
