Sir Tom Jones, 80, won over a new legion of fans when he first appeared as a coach on The Voice UK. Now, after making his Celebrity Gogglebox debut, it appears the hitmaker has won the hearts of more fans.
I’ve got a, it’s a flip phone!
During a recent episode of the hit Channel 4 show, Sir Tom was joined by fellow The Voice coach, Anne-Marie, 30, as the pair sat and discussed the week’s television.
As the episode got underway, the Sex Bomb singer was left looking on in awe as he discovered a McDonald’s meal trick thanks to This Morning’s Josie Gibson.
He went on to discuss his battle with dyslexia which often saw him be labelled as “lazy” during his school days.
Sir Tom admitted that he struggled to send text messages but was able to read them perfectly.

Filmed from Tom’s flat in London, Sir Tom asked singer Anne-Marie what phone she used, to which she replied: “I’ve got an iPhone, what have you got?”
The singer who broke records when he landed another number one album last month responded: “I’ve got a, it’s a flip phone!
“You know, you can do a lot of things, you can text me but I don’t text because I’m dyslexic and I don’t spell well, I read, no problem.”
He added: “I read texts, no problem but if you say ‘Now you just read that text now, you send that same text to somebody else,” before pulling a confused face and making a confused noise.

Anne-Marie, startled by Tom’s revelation interjected: “I’m the complete opposite, I’m dyslexic but I can’t read well but I’m good at spelling.”
Seconds later, a light bulb moment sparked in Sir Tom’s head and he said: “Really? We ought to get together!”
To which Anne-Marie exclaimed: “I know, we can send a text together!”
“I’ll read them and you write them,” Tom added before they both erupted into fits of laughter.

Shortly after the scene aired, viewers instantly took to social media to discuss the revelation that Sir Tom uses a flip phone.
“Tom Jones having a flip phone is incredible #CelebrityGogglebox #Gogglebox,” said one viewer.
While a second added: “All his money and Tom Jones has a flip phone. Wouldn’t one of them make his dyslexia worse? #CelebrityGogglebox #tomjones.”
“Oh bless Tom Jones still has a flip phone. Got to love @AnneMarie ‘We can send a text together’ #CelebrityGogglebox,” tweeted a third.
Sir Tom left Anne-Marie speechless when he revealed that he had never made a cake throughout his life.
He said: “I’ve never baked a cake ever, I’ll sing you a song while you’re baking the cake but that’s about it.”
While he has never made a cake, the singing whizz certainly appeared to sound like an expert after watching a clip from Bake Off: The Professionals, which saw one of the contestant’s cake topple over.
Sir Tom had warned Anne-Marie seconds before that he could see the incident happening, saying: “That’s top-heavy look, it’s not a very attractive looking thing is it?”
Celebrity Gogglebox airs Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4.
