Tragic: Teacher Killed in French School Stabbing Incident

A teacher has been killed in a school in Saint-Jean-de-Luz in the Basque Country in southwestern France after she was stabbed by a pupil on Wednesday, according to the prosecutor’s office. The student stopped at what was reported by the ambulance crews.

The incident occurred at the Saint-Thomas-d’Aquine complementary and secondary school in Saint-Jean-de-Luz. According to the Basque Country news site “Actor.far”, which first reported the news, the victim was in her fifties and her heart had stopped when the ambulance crews arrived, but they were unable to revive her.

Sud West newspaper reported that the victim was a Spanish language teacher who was giving a class in first grade. Looks like the attacker got in in class armed with a knife and attacked the teacher.

On September 13, 2022, a fifteen-year-old boy stabbed a secondary school teacher in the neck in Normandy, in northern France. The 63-year-old victim was released from hospital after several days. The student was reported at the end of September and was detained in a specialized hospital.
