True Blood is a popular HBO series that is soon coming to Netflix. The Southern Vampire Mysteries

True Blood ran for a total of seven seasons. It was created by Alan Ball, who also worked on Six Feet Under, and is based on the book series called The Southern Vampire Mysteries written by Charlaine Harris.

Set in the near future, True Blood introduces a world where a Japanese company has successfully created synthetic blood. This development means that vampires no longer have to feed on humans and can peacefully coexist with them. However, the question remains whether this is always a good idea. The main protagonist is Anna Paquin, playing the character of Sookie Stackhouse. Sookie is a telepathic waitress who becomes involved in a romantic relationship with a vampire who is 173 years old.
