Twitter to Introduce New Video-Watching Features to Compete with Rival Social Networks

In a moment in which the microblogging platform tries to improve video sharing and viewing experience to compete with others socialwork like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, Twitter lead designer Andrea Conway announced on Friday the advent of a number of new video-watching features on the platform.

According to the image attached to the tweet, the video player interface will be updated to add more options, populating them in an easy to access menu.

The menu also includes options such as displaying captions or subtitles for video subtitles and controlling video playback speed by speeding up or slowing down playback. speed as well as the option to share the video across other apps and the option to report offensive videos, according to the Arab portal for technical news.

Quality Control Option

There is also an option to download the video, which will save it directly to the device’s storage memory, without the need to use other applications or services to download videos from Twitter.

Conway said users will have the ability to control the video quality and picture-in-picture feature while playing the video on Twitter. in as it can be displayed as a mini-window mobile while still scrolling, instead of full screen, feature also confirmed in previously by the company owner of Twitter, Elon Musk.

Blue Twitter

Interestingly, the Twitter platform last year launched the ability to share and watch long videos that take up the entire screen space, such as TikTok and Reels videos on Instagram.
