Colombian airline Avianca said on Saturday that two bodies were found in the landing gear of a plane after it landed in Bogota.
Flight AV116 landed at Bogota’s El Dorado airport on Friday night after taking off the same day from Santiago, the capital of Chile.
Radio station Karakul reported that the two victims, who were said to be males, were found in the right and left wheels under the plane.
The radio quoted authorities as saying the bodies appeared to have been sitting in the plane’s landing gear for days.
The last time the aircraft underwent maintenance services was on December 27, 2022. The aircraft was in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic from December 31 to January 3.
