Today, Saturday, the Pakistani Minister of Health announced that Prime Minister Imran Khan had tested positive for COVID-19 two days after receiving the vaccination.
Minister Faisal Sultan added in a tweet that Khan had “isolated himself at home”.
Pakistan registered 3,876 new cases of coronavirus yesterday, Saturday, bringing the total number of cases of the virus in the country to 623,135 cases.
The National Center for Monitoring the Development of Coronaviruses at Pakistan’s Ministry of Health also reported that the country recorded 42 new deaths from infection with the virus over the same period, bringing the total death toll to 13,799.
The center added that the number of people recovering from coronavirus infection increased by 1,446 people, bringing the cumulative number of people who have recovered since the pandemic started to 579,760 people.
