Two dead and 60 under the rubble. Ukraine accuses Russia of bombing a school

Today, Sunday, the authorities of the Ukrainian region of Lugansk accused the Russian army of having bombed a school where there were about 90 people.

Serhiy Gaidai, governor of the Lugansk region, said two people were killed in the bombing of a school in the village of Belhorivka, noting that it is feared that 60 people were killed under the rubble.

He also added that Russia dropped a bomb on Saturday afternoon on the school where about 90 people were taking refuge and 30 were rescued.

“Seven of them were injured … 60 people are likely to have died under the rubble of the building,” wrote Jayday. in a post on the Telegram messaging app.

On the other hand, Gaidai said preliminary information indicates that a house was destroyed by bombing on the village of Shepilovo and that 11 people were still under the rubble.

On the other hand, there was no immediate response from Russia.

Interestingly, the Lugansk region is one of two breakaway republics that declared their independence unilaterally and are recognized only by Russia.

On February 24, Russia announced a special military operation in eastern Ukraine with the aim of “protecting” the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

The operation, which entered the second phase about a month ago, was concentrated specifically in the Donbass region, where the battles still continue.
