Two people were stabbed in the western part of the Swedish capital, one of them seriously

At least two people were injured – one seriously – in a stabbing inside a shopping center west of the Swedish capital, and a suspect was arrested, police said Tuesday.

Police added that a “sharp object” was used in the attack and the case is being investigated as attempted murder.

Hospital officials said the two victims were men in their forties and early fifties.

Magnus Jansson-Klaren, a spokesman for the police, told the local newspaper Aftonbladet that he had no information on the reason for the attack and that there was only one perpetrator.

The accident occurred in the city of Västerås, 90 km west of Stockholm.
