Uber asks employees to give back 50% of the weather

Uber on He told employees on Tuesday he was going to roll out a hybrid return to-work model this fall, permitting for a more flexible approach a location and time spent in the office.

The company asks employees to be in the office 50% of the weather. That time can be divided up in what ever way works best for employees and them teams, head of Uber people officer, Nikki Krishnamurthy, wrote in a blog post. This could mean one week on, one week off, or three days one week and two days on next week, for example. It’s a little different model than many companies have chosen, where they ask employees to come in a set number of days each week.

Uber employees will also to have more flexibility on their favorite office location, the company said. They will be able to choose between a list of “dedicated” team hubs, ” instead of be limited to their pre-pandemic location.

The new model probably start this fall. Employees can continue to continue work from home until 13 September, unless worsening of COVID-19.

Uber is also telling employees that they can apply to become fully remote.

Salesforce said it would allow employees to choose whether want to come in in office again, saying “the working day from 9 to 17 is dead. “Meanwhile, Twitter and Square are allowing employees work from home “forever.”

As for the Covid restrictions, the spokesperson said Uber is following Cal / OSHA Emergency Temporary Standards. Employees who attest that they are no longer fully vaccinated need wear a mask or social distance upon their return and the company is encouraging employees to get vaccinated.
