Notes on patch by UFC 4 10.00

Major updates:

  • Added 2 new fighters, Rob Font and Ciryl Gane
  • Venum gear replaced the previous Reebok gear
  • Combat kits can now be selected during Fighter selection
  • Daniel Cormier was updated at Legend and 5 stars in general in Light, heavy and heavy

Community Feedback:

  • Fixed inconsistency in greater back lunges for Cruz and Dillashaw
  • Significantly increased denial window for Cage Back Clinch Back Drive
    • This removal was enough fast, whereas it leads to back sitting which is a dominant position. It often worked as a shortcut to the file powerful Rear naked choke. This takedown nerf should make the starter noticeably more difficult access, in particular because nerfing the file back drive also indirectly nerf the mix up with the backpack.

Unlike the mixes up high-low involving flips, this back drive/ backpack mix up it does not have anti-fuzzy-guard mechanics. This means that a skilled defender can hold a block high in case the attacker tries a backpack, then switch to block low and still defend the back to drag in time. This does not completely take the defender out of the forest, because there may still be a file follow up turn to defend. However, these shifts lead just for side control and generally can be at least coded on reaction.

IS also important to remember that when the back drive started, the defender should let it go of the left attacked ASAP if they were going on foot escape from the cage back clinch. Otherwise, the left stick input will be interpreted as an attempt to defend a round and can lead to the success of the back to drag.

Finally, also consider that although the back drag / backpack gets heavily nerfed, the regular bodylock launches from cage back clinch benefits from the anti-fuzzy-guard logic. This means that if the defender is in camping on high block as part of Select option strategy of defend the back drive/back drag the mix up, the attacker can use a regular body door lock throw and possibly succeed because the defender was holding a high block. This should give these throws a nice new niche as they were underwhelming.

  • Increased recoveries for the sliding rear hook that advances
    • The slippery hook was a major complaint from community for a little. We finally managed to nerf it, increasing everything of his recoveries. This means that they can no longer be executed in very quick succession. Furthermore, the special counter from one block to one lead the hook works in consistently against now there is no time to block or slide it.
  • Fixed bad state in Over Under strikes against the submissive journey
  • Fixed mirroring issue in Over Under breaking his knee
    • The submissive fighter’s stance no longer deforms after separation.
  • Likeness of Jake Matthews updated
