The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, welcomed the agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran to resume diplomatic relations between them. The spokesman of the United Nations, Stephane Dujarric, said expressed the UN Secretary-General’s gratitude to China for hosting the recent talks, and the UN Secretary-General also welcomed the efforts of other countries in this sense, in especially the Sultanate of Oman and Iraq.
The UN spokesman said good neighborly relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iran are necessary for the stability of the Gulf region.
