a Venezuelan mother of two died in shipwrecked after drinking her urine and breastfeeding children.
Marely Chacon was on the cruise ship Thor on September 3rd with her husband, babysitter and two children, a 6-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter.
When the ship crashed on his journey from Higuerote to the island of Tortuga, it was a disaster that Chacón and her family were not prepared for.
A strong wave hit the boat and broke the lower part, causing the family to be divorced for stranded for four days in the hot sun on a lifeboat, Newsweek reported.
a rescue team was called in Search of the missing one family; the team could only find two of Chacon’s children to hold on to their dead mother.
“The mother who died loved her children alive by breastfeeding them and drinking her own urine,” said an INEA spokesperson. “She died three of four hours for the rescue of dehydration after drinking no water for three days.”
Forensic doctors have determined that Chacón’s vital organs… failed after her electrolytes were depleted from dehydration, according to a Spanish magazine, La República, quoted Newsweek.
The children suffered from dehydration and firstdegree burns.
The other five people, including the father and husband, Remis David Camblor, has yet to be found, according to Newsweek.
“The Virgin of Coromoto looks at Mariely Chacon Marroquin in caracas. Rest in peace,” tweeted journalist Laura Castellanos in Spanish, Newsweek reported.
