US law firm Mayer Brown to close work for Hong Kong University amid controversy over Removal of the Tiananmen Monument

The move comes amid controversy over the statue, which once stood at the oldest university in Hong Kong for 24 years. The artwork, known as the “Pillar” of Shame,” has faced removal as civil servants clamp down on any confirmation in Hong-Kong of the Beijing massacre in 1989, just as they have in mainland China.
