A special edition of Vampire Survivors called the ‘Directer’s Cut’ has been revealed

A new report has emerged about a special edition of Vampire Survivors called the ‘Directer’s Cut’. Author and accessibility consultant Laura Kate Dale recently tweeted about attending an event for the game’s upcoming co-op mode, where she was shown a different version of the game.

What is the ‘Directer’s Cut’?

The ‘Directer’s Cut’ refers to a character called the Directer, who is a hidden final boss in the Vampire Survivors endgame.

What’s new in the ‘Directer’s Cut’ version?

According to Dale, this new version features exciting additions such as “wild new characters, stages, weapons, accessories, and evolutions.”

Some of the new characters included in this version are a multi-limbed angel, a rose woman, an imp, Santa, werewolf, spaceman, big skull, constellation frog angel, and winged egg.

Dale even provided video evidence of the game and mentioned that she believes she’s the only person who has been invited to try it out.

Release date and features

Vampire Survivors is set to be released on Nintendo Switch on August 17 and will introduce local co-op for up to four players. The co-op option will also be available on the same date for all other versions of the game.

Described as a roguellike shoot ’em up, Vampire Survivors allows players to choose from numerous characters who automatically attack as the player fights through waves of monsters, aiming to survive for as long as possible.

Game’s success and awards

Vampire Survivors has received widespread critical acclaim and was honored with Best Game and Best Design awards at the BAFTA Games Awards in March.
