Violent protests in England . Two police officers were wounded and two cars were set on fire

British police said two police officers were seriously injured and at least two police cars were set on fire in the south-west city of Bristol during the violence following a peaceful protest.

On Sunday, thousands of protesters gathered downtown, ignoring COVID-19 restrictions, to protest a government bill in parliament that would give police new powers to impose restrictions on street protests.

The local force said the demonstration started peacefully but later turned into violent acts by a small minority.

Home Secretary Priti Patel said on Twitter that what was happening in Bristol was unacceptable. “The brawl and disorder of a minority will never be tolerated,” she added. “Our police personnel put themselves at risk to protect us all.” I sympathize with the injured police officers. “

Two policemen were taken to the hospital, one broken his arm and the other a broken rib, while others were subjected to violence and abuse, and the outer part of a downtown police station was destroyed.
