Waiver Wire Fantasy Week 15: Alshon Jeffery Injury, Darius Slayton and Boston Scott Breakouts Generate More Free Agents Adds

Monday Night Football provided a microcosm of last week’s fantasy developments: A Big Injury (Alshon Jeffery), A Big Spree (Boston Scott), and repeated production from an overlooking bed (Darius Slayton). These types of situations happened everywhere on Sunday, creating a plethora of Weeks 15 Imagination Cable Receipts And Free Agent Adds. Some obvious handcuffs were reinforced (DeAndre Washington, Biallal Powell, Adrian Peterson, Ian Thomas), other produced injuries (Breshad Perriman, Hayden Hurst), and several players continued to perform under the radar (Raheem Moster, Ryan Tannehill, Cole Besay). When you put them all together, there are a lot of players worth targeting during the derogations and after the clear derogation around 4-5am. ET on Wednesday morning at Yahoo and ESPN Championships.

And that doesn’t even speak to the streamers of Week 15 full list of free agents is loaded with players who are able to take advantage of favorable matchups in fantasy semifinals. From QBs (Ryan Fitzpatrick, Gardner Minskul, Jacoby Brissett) to WRs (A.J. coffee, Zach Pascal, Kendrick Bourne) to TE (David Djuku, Jeff Heuerman) to D / STs (Chiefs, Seahawks, Victorians), we have something for everyone. (Streamers are at the bottom of the list). You can even check us out 15th week kicker rankings if you think kicker matches matter (which doesn’t, but we don’t judge you if you think they do).

As we said last week, now is not the time to save your exemption claims. Due to injuries, there are legal receipts at each location that would justify claims for high resignation every week. But even if you are just looking for power, you still have to do whatever it takes to get the player you need. Sure, there will probably be more worthwhile pickups next week, but you need to get there first – and there should be even fewer owners in your league who want to make pickups.

Unless otherwise stated, only players with less than 50% of Yahoo’s championships are considered.

Darius Slayton, WR, Giants. Slayton is on that list and returns after a dominant turn, like Eli Manning’s favorite receiver on Monday night. Slayton had eight team goals (one more than Sterling Shepard, three more than Golden Tate), scoring five for 154 yards and two TDs. Slayton has averaged just under 10 goals per game over his last four, and has had three two-TD games in his last six games. With the Dolphins and Redskins on deck for the rest of the fantasy play-offs, Slayton could be a major difference maker, no matter who the New York QB is.

Boston Scott, RB, Eagles. Scott gave a real boost to the Eagles’ attack on Monday night, rushing 10 times for 59 yards and scoring and adding another six catches (six goals) for 69 yards. Scott looked better than Miles Sanders as a runner and receiver and looks likely to continue playing time if Jordan Howard (shoulder) loses time. Even if Howard does return, Scott may have had time to play over Sanders as a change of pace / receiving back. Either way, it’s worth a PPR championship add-on with the Redskins at the tap for Week 15.

15 Weeks PPR: Running Back Wide Receiver Tight end

Nelson Agholor WR, Eagles (or Greg Ward or JJ Arcega-Whiteside). By the end of Monday night’s game, Philadelphia went down to a healthy wide receiver (Greg Ward). Seriously. Alshon Jeffery left early due to a foot / ankle injury and JJ Arcega-Whiteside recovered with an injury late. It is not clear if Agholor (or Jeffery or Arcega-Whiteside) will be ready for next week, so Ward and some free agent signals are likely to start next week. Maybe Ward is actually the guy to get here – who knows? Agholor has at least proven something and would be very targeted next week against the Redskins if he is back, but we need to see who is healthy and worth a slow week free agent pickup.

David Djuku, TE, Browns. Njoku’s return from a wrist injury didn’t go well, as he only had one of three goals for four yards. But he played 10 more shots and had two more goals from Ricky Seals-Jones, so he remains the preferred TE option in Cleveland. Against Arizona, which still allows by far the most fantastical points per game on a TE, Njoku could pay off in a big way.

Tyler Himbe, TE, Ramsey. Higbee has struggled in the absence of Gerald Everett and has his third favorable matchup (@ Cowboys) in Week 15. Assuming Everett (knee) stays out, Higbee should belong to all leagues and could easily be better than starting with TE.
