Because of rising inflation, Sony has decided to increase the price of the PlayStation 5 console

On Thursday, Sony announced a price increase for the PlayStation 5 in a number of international markets, citing the current economic climate and rising inflation

The Japanese gaming giant announced the price increases are in effect immediately, with the exception of Japan, where they will take effect on September 15.

The company said that "based on these challenging economic conditions," it has decided to raise the price of its flagship console.

– Price increases of 50 Euros ($50) in Europe bring the disc version to 549.99 Euros and the digital version to 449.99 Euros.

– Prices in the UK have gone up by £30, making the disc edition cost £479.99, and the digital version cost £399.99.

– Japan's prices have increased by 5,000 yen, bringing the disc edition to 54,980 yen and the digital version to 44,980 yen.

– The price in China has gone up by 400 yuan, to a total of 4,299 yuan for the disc version and 3,499 yuan for the digital model.
