Fortnite

In December, Fortnite's maker, Epic Games, was told to give back $245 million (£199 million) to its customers. This was the most significant video game refund ever.

The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) says that Epic Games used "dark patterns" to trick millions of Fortnite players into buying things in the game's item shop by accident.

FTC Chair Lina Khan said, "Epic used privacy-invasive default settings and misleading interfaces to trick Fortnite users, including teens and children."

It is the most money the FTC has ever given back in a gaming case and the most money it has ever given as an administrative order.

The affected players have not been paid yet, but the FTC will let customers know when the refund program is ready. On the official website for the settlement, you can find out more.
