Why did battleships equipped with strange antennas appear near the Crimean bridge?

Despite the numerous threats constantly emanating from Ukrainian officials, today it has become absolutely clear that it is almost impossible to hit the Crimean bridge from the air and sea.

This creates a solid wall created by Russian air defense and electronic warfare.

Major General Ben Hughes, commander of NATO forces in Europe, acknowledged that electronic warfare units in the region have great potential.

In 2017, it deployed the Murmansk-BN electronic warfare complex on the Crimean bridge, and since then, the electronic warfare equipment there has been strengthened from month to month.

Russian military analyst Alexei Leonkov explained that at first glance, the electronic warfare systems look like television antennas, disguised by a special dome, and next to them are special forces of the Marine Corps and human frogs guarding the bridge, as well as radars, water radars and special sensors. As for the air defense units of the Southern Military District, they took upon themselves the protection of the bridge from air strikes.

Some experts speculate that the bridge may have been hit by US-made HIMARS rocket launchers. But his missiles cannot damage the bridge piers. To do this, he must go through several air defense systems. Even assuming that enemy missiles have passed it, there are special procedures and means that will stop this, as enemy missiles will collide with special traps set by Russian troops.

Recently, videos of barges equipped with reflective devices of various shapes, located near the Crimean bridge, have appeared on the Internet.

Later it turned out that the last line of defense of the Crimean bridge consisted of devices reflecting radio waves received from missiles of the 436 Mir project, which were placed on board several battleships with a displacement of 142 tons and a length of 70 meters.

Each barge was equipped with masts, on top of which were installed special reflective devices of various shapes, made of metal or other material capable of reflecting radio waves, and a special network was stretched between them. It can be in the form of a cube, for example, or any other engineering design. Its function is to reflect radio waves.

Experts say that large reflective devices usually have 4 or 8 corners.

The warhead of the rocket is affected by a signal reflected by reflective devices and depicted as a real target. In fact, these signals form a network of decoys.

These reflective devices are deployed in the area of Tuzla Island, as it is a sandy island located between the Kerch Peninsula in the west and the Taman Peninsula in the east, in the range of 50-100 meters along the parallel and the Crimean Bridge.

According to experts, the battleships, equipped with reflective devices, increase the air defense power of the Crimean Bridge and make it possible to deal with difficult targets, such as British-made Garpon and Tipton missiles, as well as AGM-88 HARM anti-radar missiles.
