Yemen The rights demand to classify “Al-Houthi” as a terrorist group

Today, Monday, Yemeni organizations operating in Marib Governorate called on the United Nations, the United Nations Security Council and the United States of America to include the Houthi coup militia among terrorist groups as a worthy classification due to the their crimes against civilians amounting to war crimes.

Civil society organizations operating in Marib, in a symposium organized by the University of the province of Saba, condemned the repeated and deliberate attacks by the Houthi terrorist militias in Iran, in the overcrowded residential neighborhoods of the Governorate of Marib, with ballistic missiles, artillery and explosive drones.

It condemned the Houthi siege imposed on the villages of Abdiya and the bombing of 37,000 civilians with various types of weapons, which exposed them to genocide, as well as kidnappings and field executions of civilians in the villages in which he entered and the bombing of homes, according to a statement released at the end of the symposium.

The statement also condemned the absence of the role of UN organizations towards civilian victims of humanitarian violations and crimes by the Houthi militias, in particular the siege of the Abdiya district, the abuses of its residents and the bombing of the only hospital in the district and within it the injured children and women whose homes have been targeted, as well as the crimes of ill-treatment of civilians in the villages that stormed the Houthi militias.

He stressed that the silence of the international community and the absence of the real role of United Nations organizations in compliance with their moral and legal responsibilities to protect civilians make it a participant in these crimes and a prejudice against the militia and its crimes.
