Yemeni army: 74 Houthi violations of the UN armistice found in one day

The Yemeni army announced on Wednesday that it had monitored the Houthi militia for 74 violations of the UN armistice yesterday, Tuesday, on various fronts.

The media center of the Yemeni army said in a statement that the Iranian Houthi militia has continued to violate the UN truce since prime hours of its announcement on various combat fronts, and it even hit civilian objects and gatherings of displaced persons.

He explained that the Houthi violations observed on Tuesday were 31 violations on the fronts of the Taiz axis, 16 violations on the Al-Barah axes west of Taiz and Hais south of Hodeidah, 13 violations on the fronts west of Hajjah, 11 violations in the south, west and north-west of Ma’rib and 3 violations on the fighting fronts east of Al-Hazm city in Al-Jawf governorate.

He stressed that the armed forces thwarted several infiltration attempts by Houthi armed groups in different times to military sites south of Ma’rib and on the outskirts of Shamir and in areas south of Al-Jarahi in the Hays axis.

He said the Houthi militia doubled down on site-building and trench-building operations using road construction mechanisms south and west of Marib. in separate areas in the Hays axis e in located in the Haradh front, west of Hajjah.

The militia also continued to send human reinforcements and equipment to the Hodeidah, Marib and Haradh fronts, according to the source.

In this context, the Yemeni government condemned, with the utmost firmness, the continued attacks by the Houthi coup militia against civilians and the violation of the UN armistice.

A statement released Wednesday by the Yemeni Ministry of Legal Affairs and Human Rights indicated that the Houthi militia (Tuesday) shot civilians in thearea of Markhezha of Qataba district, west of Al-Dhalea governorate, killing citizen Yahya Ali Al-Zahari and his brother Suleiman.

He considered the Houthi militia’s continued firing of shells and missiles at the head of civilians and populated areas as a war crime, pointing out that the continued threat to the life of citizens by the militia and failure to comply with the truce undermine the chances of pace in Yemen.

The declaration called on the United Nations envoy and all local and international human rights bodies and organizations to assume their responsibilities towards civilians by shedding light on these crimes and showing them to local and international public opinion, and working to detain the killers and those involved in the militia leaders are responsible.
