Yemeni Information Minister: Houthi militia ignores warnings from oil tanker Safer

Yemeni Minister of Information and Culture Muammar Al-Eryani, through several tweets, held the Houthi militia fully responsible for the environmental and economic damage caused by the erosion of the hull of the tanker Safer anchored at the port of Ras Issa, and said in tweets:

1- The Houthi terrorist militia of Iran, for the seventh consecutive year, continues to ignore the warnings of an impending environmental disaster, the largest in human history due to the erosion of the hull of the oil tanker # Safer anchored at the port of Ras Issa in Hodeidah from the coup without any maintenance, and contains more than one million barrels of crude oil.

2- We are surprised by the announcement a few days ago by the United Nations Mission in support of the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA) that it has conducted a weekly visit to the port of Salif and the surrounding areas, without providing clarification since its formation on the state of the #Safer oil tanker and pressuring the terrorist Houthi militia to stop using a time bomb to pressure, bargain and blackmail the world

3- We hold the Houthi militia fully responsible for the catastrophic environmental, economic and humanitarian damage as a result of the spill, sinking or explosion of the oil tanker in light of reports of erosion of its structure and engines and the appearance of oil spills around it, in what continues to obstruct the arrival of a technical team to assess the state of the tanker and carry out inspections and maintenance.

4- We are surprised by the silence of the international community, the United Nations and (UNMHA) on this dangerous threat whose effects will not be limited to Yemen, and we ask for collective and immediate action to avoid a catastrophe that will be paid for by millions of civilians in coastal countries, and whose disastrous consequences will be thrown on the international maritime routes in the Red Sea and on the Bab delegation
