You can buy Dark Side Rey’s strange lightsaber from Rise of Skywalker

On D23, Disney unveiled a special look for Star Wars Episode IX: Rise of Skywalker. The trailer shows the original Star Wars trilogy, the prequels and the sequels. But perhaps most notably, instead of her traditional blue lightsaber, Rey was holding a new red lightsaber. Thanks to Chronicle Collectibles, you can buy a replica of Rey’s Dark Side saber that will only get you $ 1,599.99. Just.

In the trailer, Rey’s red sword is not Sith and Jedi’s most popular single-blade lightsaber. Instead, the saber has two sides. In contrast to Darth Maul and other double-sided sabers for lightsaber enthusiasts, Reys is supplied with a bizarre hinge with which he can transform side by side between double-sided and two single-bladed sabers.

The version of the Chronicle Collectibles hinge bar is a replica of Dark Side Rey from the trailer – with a badge that says Dark Side Rey Lightsaber. Chronicle made the replica from solid aluminum and all metal parts. The creators were able to study the props provided by Lucasfilm to create a precise saber up to weathering. Chronicle also boasts that the hinge that connects the two sabers is the same piece that is used in the real prop.

While this is the first time that a hinged lightsaber or Switchblade lightsaber appears in a live action Star Wars movie, the blade isn’t entirely unique to Rey. In Clone Wars, Jedi General Pong Krell uses a swiveling lightsaber in combat. For the rebels, the Jedi temple guards also use these folding swords to defend the temple.

The Chronicle saber, which does not appear to come with a blade, will not be delivered until early next year. Chronicle will also only sell 750 of these lightsabers, making it a rare collector’s item. You can purchase your own Dark Side Rey lightsaber for $ 1,599.99 on the Chronicle Collectibles website.
