“Zakat” calls for the submission of tax returns at source for April

The Saudi Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority has called on business sector taxpayers subject to withholding tax in the Kingdom to file their tax returns for the month of last April, no later than May 10, according to the agency. Saudi press, “SPA”.

The authority has urged its taxpayers to quickly file their tax returns through its website (zatca.gov.sa), in order to avoid a penalty for non-compliance within the specified period, at a rate of 1% of the unpaid tax for every thirty days of delay from the due date.

Withholding tax is one of the tax regimes in force in the Kingdom that is deducted from the total income of a non-resident establishment in the Kingdom, in exchange of the services it provides within the Kingdom, according to the rates provided for by article 63 of the legislation on income taxes.
