Zelensky from Heart of Darkness: We are not afraid of the dark and Moscow will not break us

After Kiev previously announced that Russian infrastructure attacks had destroyed nearly 30 percent of the country’s power plants, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky remained in the dark beside a drone wreck to deliver his nightly video speech.

Suddenly, Zelensky promised that large-scale Russian attacks on power plants would not demoralize the Ukrainian people.

He also stressed that the bombing will not destroy Ukrainian forces, saying: “Hearing the enemy’s anthem on our land scares us more than the sound of enemy missiles in the sky.” He reiterated that Ukrainians are not afraid of the dark and are continuing to defend their land, as he said.

More than 8000 air strikes

In addition, he pointed out that Russia has so far launched more than 8,000 air strikes and launched 4,500 missiles. He said his country’s forces shot down 23 drones in the past two days.

The rhetoric came Thursday night after Russian forces launched dozens of missiles and drones on the Ukrainian power grid in the past two weeks, causing massive damage and power outages. in hundreds of towns and cities, Reuters reported.

A senior official confirmed Thursday that Kiev and four other regions may have to cut off electricity supplies for a longer period than expected after the Russian strikes.

Interestingly, the Ukrainian presidency announced last week that the Russian bombing, in one week, it destroyed 30% of the country’s power plants, causing a “massive” power outage in various regions.

In the last period, Russian forces have intensified their missile attacks on Ukrainian territory, after Kiev launched a counterattack, especially in the cities of the south and north-east of the country, to recover them from the Russian grip, making significant progress.
