Fortnite Update 39.50 Rolls Out February 19 With Solo Leveling Crossover and Lantern Fest
Fortnite update 39.50 will launch on February 19 across PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Switch 2, the original Nintendo Switch and mobile, introducing a new crossover event and the return of Lantern Fest.
Fortnite update 39.50 has a February 19 release date and will be available to download and install from 9am GMT UK time.
Matchmaking will be disabled at 8.30am GMT, meaning players must join a match shortly beforehand if they want to play prior to downtime. The Fortnite server status page confirms downtime is scheduled to last 90 minutes, with the game expected to return online at 10.30am GMT.
Epic Games confirmed the timing, stating: “Things get even more legendary in Love & Legends! Downtime for v39.50 begins at 4 AM ET with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand.” Official maintenance updates are published through the Epic Games server status page.
Solo Leveling Crossover Details
Update 39.50 includes the Solo Leveling crossover, featuring a Sung Jin-Woo skin and additional themed items. The collaboration integrates cosmetic content inspired by the Solo Leveling franchise into Fortnite.
Players can earn certain items early by competing in the Solo Leveling Arise Cup on February 19. The cup is available for single players only and provides early access rewards tied to the crossover.
Fortnite frequently incorporates crossover events into its seasonal updates, adding character skins and limited-time tournaments tied to external entertainment properties. These events are typically deployed during scheduled version updates.
Fans are also expecting the release of Honkai Star Rail content alongside update 39.50. Specific implementation details for this content have not been outlined in the available information.
Lantern Fest Event Schedule and Rewards
Epic Games has also announced the return of Lantern Fest, running from February 19 until February 25. The event centers on eight-player Reload teams and limited-time quests.
“Lantern Fest celebrates Fortnite’s Middle East and North Africa community and this year, players get to drop in with the biggest Reload teams ever,” Epic explains.
From February 19 at 9 AM ET to February 25 at 9 AM ET, eight-player teams can complete three Reload Quests to unlock the “Bring it!” Spray. Completing eight Reload Quests will unlock the “Love the Game” Emoticon.
The event takes place within Reload mode, which supports eight-player teams during the festival period. Rewards are tied specifically to quest completion within this mode.
Fortnite remains one of Epic Games’ flagship live-service titles, supported through recurring version updates, crossovers and timed in-game events. Update 39.50 combines scheduled maintenance, crossover cosmetics and a time-limited festival event within a single deployment window.
Servers are scheduled to resume service at 10.30am GMT following the 90-minute downtime period on February 19.
