The series, which is based on the 2019 novel “The Never Game” by Jeffery Deaver, continues to be a priority for the network after becoming the most-watched scripted series on CBS in 2025, reaching approximately 16.4 million multiplatform viewers.
According to the CBS Fall 2026 Schedule, the new season is set to debut on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 9:30 PM ET. Following the initial launch, the Season 4 Premiere will settle into its regular Sunday night time slot at 9:00 PM ET starting October 11, 2026. In this new time slot, the show will follow the new series “Marshals”.
Shifting the Narrative Focus
The series is taking a major change in its storytelling. For the first three seasons, the central plot revolved around the mystery regarding the death of Ashton Shaw, the father of protagonist Colter Shaw.
