The journey of Marvel’s White Vision is set to reach its next stage as Disney+ prepares for the debut of VisionQuest. Scheduled to premiere on October 14, 2026, the series serves as the concluding chapter of a thematic trilogy that began with WandaVision (2021) and continued through Agatha All Along (2024). Before its wide release, the series is reported to hold its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on October 12, 2026.
The series, which follows the version of Vision introduced at the end of WandaVision, marks a significant shift in the character’s narrative. While the original synthezoid was destroyed during the events of Avengers: Infinity War, VisionQuest focuses on the restored “White Vision” as he seeks to rediscover his purpose and humanity. This journey is facilitated by a “Mind Palace” narrative device, allowing the character to interact with previous AI personas from his programming in human form. This setup brings back James D’Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S. and Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y., among others.
The Return of Ultron and Familiar Faces
One of the most notable developments for the series is the return of James Spader as Ultron. Reports indicate that Spader will portray the villain in both robotic and human forms, suggesting a complex psychological or digital confrontation within Vision’s internal landscape. This return links the upcoming series back to Avengers: Age of Ultron, the film where Vision was first brought to life using Ultron’s own technology and the Mind Stone.
Leading the production is Terry Matalas, who serves as the series showrunner. Matalas previously gained acclaim for his work on Star Trek: Picard Season 3, a background that suggests a focus on legacy characters and serialized storytelling. Under his direction, the series is expected to bridge the gap between Vision’s solo exploration and his eventual reintegration into the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The cast also includes Ruaridh Mollica, who has been cast in the role of Thomas Shepherd. In Marvel Comics, Shepherd is known as the hero Speed and is one of the twin sons of Wanda Maximoff and Vision. His presence in the series indicates that VisionQuest will directly address the legacy of the family Vision lost during the Westview incident, potentially setting the stage for a new generation of heroes.
By centering the story on Vision’s internal struggle and his connection to the artificial intelligences that preceded him, the series appears designed to re-establish the character as a primary player in the MCU’s upcoming phases.
