The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 update was released on September 25, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This update un-restricts the VMP for use in Ranked Play and implements stability fixes for the Rex Infernus Zombies map.
Multiplayer and Ranked Play Adjustments
The VMP and select VMP attachments are no longer restricted in Black Ops 7 Ranked Play. This change allows the submachine gun to enter the competitive meta immediately following the patch deployment.
General Multiplayer fixes included in this update address weapon behavior and user interface errors:
- Warden 308 Revolver: Fixed an issue where the fire-mode toggle for the Akimbo attachment was reversed.
- Gunsmith UI: Resolved a bug where using the “Equip weapon and Open Gunsmith” flow could result in the player Prestiging the wrong weapon.
Zombies: Rex Infernus and Boss Rush Fixes
Players participating in the Zombies Boss Rush mode on the Rex Infernus map will find two progression-blocking issues resolved:
- Z-Rex Boss: Fixed a bug where the Z-Rex could become stuck out of bounds during the Boss Rush.
- Round Off GobbleGum: Corrected an issue where this specific GobbleGum would fail to produce effects while playing in Boss Rush.
Warzone Balance and Mechanics
Warzone received targeted changes to the Fortune’s Keep Boat Exclusion Zone. According to the official Call of Duty patch notes, the utility of this zone has been reduced in terms of both availability and active time.
- Boat Exclusion Zone (Fortune’s Keep): Usage count has been reduced from three uses down to two.
- Exclusion Zone Duration: The active duration of the zone was lowered from 140 seconds to 80 seconds.
- C4 Mechanics: Players can no longer detonate C4 while in the Last Stand state.
These changes are live across all supported platforms as of the September 25 release.
