The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 update released on September 25, 2026, introduces a series of stability fixes and balancing adjustments across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. Depending on the hardware, players will see different version numbers: Update 2.06 for last-gen consoles and Patch 1.108 for current-gen systems and PC.
Ranked Play and Weapon Adjustments
The most significant shift for competitive players is the lifting of restrictions on the VMP. The VMP SMG and its specific attachments are no longer restricted in Ranked Play, allowing the weapon to enter the meta for the first time this season.
General weapon fixes include:
- Warden 308 Revolver: Corrected an issue where the Akimbo fire-mode toggle was reversed.
- Progression Fix: Resolved a bug in the “Equip weapon and Open Gunsmith” flow that caused the last-used weapon to prestige instead of the currently selected one.
Rex Infernus Zombies Fixes
The Rex Infernus map received targeted bug fixes to address exploits and soft-locks. Players frequently reported getting stuck in the Astral Flame state, which has now been resolved. In the Boss Rush mode, a specific out-of-bounds bug involving the Z-Rex has been patched to prevent players from bypassing intended combat boundaries.
Warzone Balancing and Mechanics
The update brings specific tuning to Fortune’s Keep and general equipment behavior in Warzone. The Fortune’s Keep Boat Exclusion Zone has seen its utility reduced to prevent it from dominating late-game rotations. The number of uses has been decreased from three down to two, and the total duration has been cut from 140 seconds to 80 seconds.
Other Warzone changes include:
- C4 Detonation: Players are no longer able to detonate C4 while in the Last Stand state.
- Stability: General stability improvements have been applied to the current map rotations.
These changes are currently live across all platforms. Players must download the update to access online features and Ranked Play queues.
