Boss Team Games has released a significant update for Halloween: The Game on September 26, 2026. Identified as version 1.013 on PlayStation 5 and v1.0.4 internally, this patch introduces a visual overhaul specifically for the Xbox Series S alongside critical fixes for Michael Myers’ grab mechanics and character-specific performance issues.
Xbox Series S Graphical Adjustments
The Xbox Series S version receives a new graphics profile designed to stabilize the visual experience. Developers have removed the Quality/Performance toggle on this platform to maintain a consistent output. While the frame rate is now capped at 30 FPS, the console benefits from several visual improvements:
- Implementation of character hair physics.
- Enhanced texture quality across various environments.
- Removal of the Quality/Performance toggle to prevent frame rate fluctuations.
Gameplay Balancing and Grab Mechanics
A primary focus of this update is the interaction between Michael Myers and Civilian players. Previously, reaching Bloodthirst Level 3 made it unintentionally difficult for Civilians to break free from Michael’s grabs. Patch 1.0.4 adjusts this scaling to ensure escape remains possible at higher tiers of Bloodthirst.
The update also addresses a physics bug where Civilians would occasionally take fall damage immediately after escaping a grab on uneven terrain. This fix ensures that successful escapes do not result in unfair health loss due to environment collision errors.
Dr. Loomis and System Stability
Players had reported significant performance drops and occasional crashes triggered by Dr. Loomis. In the game’s asymmetric loop, Loomis acts as a reinforcement character; however, his entry into the match previously caused technical instability. This update resolves the spawning-related crashes and performance dips associated with his arrival.
General stability improvements included in Patch 1.013 address several other technical hurdles across all platforms:
- Resolved crashes occurring upon the completion of Story Missions.
- Fixed issues that caused the game to crash during match loading screens.
- Improved general asset loading to prevent hitching during transitions.
The patch is now live for PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. While the PS5 system menu may display the update as 1.013.000, players will see version 1.0.4 listed within the game’s internal menus.
