Insomniac Games has released update 1.001.006 for Marvel’s Wolverine on September 26, 2026. This patch introduces granular controls for the game’s Senses mechanic and resolves a specific progression blocker.
Customizable Senses and UI Toggles
The primary addition in this update is the ability to toggle specific Senses elements on or off. This allows players to adjust screen clutter or the difficulty of tracking objectives. The new toggles include:
- Whisky Bottle Scent Trails: Players can now disable the visual trails leading to collectible bottles.
- Material Crate Audio Clues: The proximity-based sound cues for finding crates can be silenced.
- Nightmare Door Roots: The visual highlights for roots during Nightmare sequences can be deactivated.
While these options provide more visual freedom, story-critical Senses remain active to ensure that mandatory objectives remain identifiable.
Mission and Progression Fixes
The technical fixes address a progression issue in the mission “The One That Got Away.” Previously, players could get stuck while sliding down a specific tree, halting forward progress. Update 1.001.006 resolves the issue in this sequence to ensure Wolverine completes the slide as intended.
Additional technical improvements included in Insomniac’s official patch notes focus on visual stability:
- Texture Issues: A rare bug that caused game objects to turn pure white after extended play sessions has been resolved.
- Photo Mode: Corrected an alignment issue where Wolverine’s claws would not appear correctly seated in his hands.
- Environmental Art: A UV mapping correction was applied to the casino bathroom to fix overlapping signs.
Gameplay Impact
The Senses customization is a functional change for players who prefer a minimalist HUD experience without the constant guidance of scent trails. Those stuck in the forest during “The One That Got Away” should find the path clear after installing the update. Long-term play sessions also benefit from the fix to the white texture bug that previously impacted asset rendering after hours of continuous play.
