HB Studios released update 1.031 (build 1.031.000) for PGA TOUR 2K25 on September 30, 2026. This patch, currently available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, officially launches Season 8 and introduces the “Power Tee Shot” as a new gameplay mechanic.
The Power Tee Shot Mechanic
The primary addition in version 1.031 is the Power Tee Shot, which players can unlock upon reaching Free Tier 25 of the Season 8 Clubhouse Pass. This mechanic allows for increased distance when using Woods, Hybrids, and Long Irons.
There is a specific tactical trade-off when using this shot: while it provides a significant boost to total yardage, it results in a reduction in both accuracy and forgiveness. This makes the Power Tee Shot a high-risk, high-reward option for aggressive play on longer holes.
Season 8 Clubhouse Pass Rewards
Season 8 refreshes the rewards available through the Clubhouse Pass. These items are divided between the Free and Premium tiers:
- Free Tier Rewards: Includes the PUMA Wild West Snapback Hat, the Bridgestone Tour B XS Golf Ball, and the Galactic Amber TaylorMade Spider X Copper Putter.
- Premium Tier Rewards: Includes the Oakley Holbrook Sunglasses and the TaylorMade Qi10 Tour Wood at the Tiger’s Eye level.
Detailed information on reward progression can be found on the official 2K seasons page.
Ranked Play and Leaderboard Resets
With the transition to Season 8, HB Studios has refreshed the competitive environment. Both the Ranked Matchmaking and Ranked Tours leaderboards have been reset, requiring players to re-establish their standings for the new season.
Stability and Performance Fixes
The 1.031 update addresses stability issues reported by the community. Specifically, the patch is intended to resolve several unnamed error codes that first emerged following the release of patch 1.08. While specific error strings were not detailed in the official notes, these fixes aim to reduce disconnects and game crashes during active play.
