Visual Concepts has released NBA 2K27 Update 1.009 (Patch 2.0), introducing a significant expansion to MyCAREER Eras and substantial rewards buffs for Crew Divisions. The update launched on October 8, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The primary highlight of this update is the overhaul of MyCAREER Eras. Players can now maintain a single save file through a complete 25-year NBA career transition. This allows a player’s journey to progress naturally through different historical eras, ensuring long-term career saves remain viable as the league’s rules, rosters, and aesthetics evolve over two and a half decades.
Crew Divisions and REP Overhaul
Ahead of the start of Season 2, the economy for competitive play has been adjusted. Matches within Crew Divisions now offer higher incentives to encourage team-based progression:
- REP Gains: Matches now award 25% more REP.
- Crew XP: Players will now earn 2X Crew XP for all matches played within their divisions.
Gameplay Refinements and “Ghost Contests”
The most notable gameplay adjustment addresses “ghost contests.” Prior to Patch 2.0, shot quality could be negatively impacted by defenders who were not properly positioned to make a play on the ball. This update fixes these instances, ensuring that only well-timed and accurately positioned defensive efforts affect the shooter’s success rate.
Platform-Specific Updates: PC and Nintendo Switch 2
The PC version of NBA 2K27 receives Advanced Shader Delivery. This feature is designed to reduce both installation and load times. It is compatible with specific hardware, including NVIDIA RTX 20 and GTX 16 series, AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT, and Intel Arc B series GPUs or newer.
On the Nintendo Switch 2, the update introduces new creative tools for MyTEAM and MyNBA. Players can now use touch-screen and mouse-based tools to draw custom images directly within the game, providing more flexibility for team branding and custom designs.
MyTEAM Game Changers and Season 2
Two new “Game Changer” cards have been added to the MyTEAM ecosystem:
- Goals: This card allows players to reroll current Dynamic Challenges.
- 2X REP: A card that activates a double REP period.
According to the Official NBA 2K Site, these changes serve as the foundation for Season 2, which is scheduled to begin on October 16, 2026.
