Netflix has confirmed that the second season of its critically acclaimed comedy series North of North will premiere globally on November 5, 2026. The show, which gained significant attention for maintaining a perfect 100% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes during its debut season, returns for an eight-episode run.
As the first original series commissioned directly from Netflix’s Canadian office, North of North follows the life of Siaja (played by Anna Lambe), a young Inuk mother living in the fictional Arctic community of Ice Cove. The upcoming season arrives on the global streaming platform following a successful domestic broadcast in Canada on CBC and APTN, which concluded its run earlier this fall.

The narrative for Season 2 focuses on the central theme of “pilimmaksarniq,” an Inuktitut concept that emphasizes the mastery of skills through observation, practice, and persistent effort. The story continues Siaja’s journey as she attempts to “level up” her life while navigating the unique social dynamics and challenges of her community. The new episodes also feature a notable lineup of guest stars, including Kids in the Hall veteran Bruce McCulloch and singer-songwriter Elisapie.
The series recently cemented its status as a critical powerhouse by winning nine trophies at the 2026 Canadian Screen Awards. Among its accolades was the award for Best Comedy Series. The show’s return follows a staggered rollout strategy, where Canadian viewers received the episodes before international audiences, who had to wait for the official Netflix global debut.
Viewers can expect all eight episodes of the second season to be available at once, continuing the tradition of the show’s blend of deadpan humor and cultural exploration that defined its record-breaking first year.
